Coronavirus Protocols at Eaglet Business Systems

Covid-19 Updated Statement

Hello all
Following the update from PM Boris Johnson on Sunday 10th May 2020, the slight relaxing of lockdown restrictions and the learnings that the directors of Eaglet Business Systems have gained since lockdown commenced we would like to give our updated statement of intent as follows:

We have successfully continued our operations and since shutdown have successfully seen 5 clients pass their recertification / surveillance visits and had no adverse effects.  Therefore we can confidently state that we are able to work remotely and intend to continue to do so for our client’s safety, our safety and do our little bit in keeping the “R” rate below 1.

Following UKAS (our regulatory body) advice we will only conduct site visits where the integrity of the audit will be compromised by not being there in person.  When we do go on site social distancing will be adhered to and we will come with full PPE including a face mask. When a site visit is required we will fully liaise with clients before the visit to agree a visit plan to minimise disruption to all.

Take care and stay safe,

Wayne & Jo Pearce

Working from home during the coronavirus crisis.

Hello!

Hands up if you are working from home?  I can’t see you, but I suspect most of you just put your hands up?

Weird, isn’t it?

Here at EBS, Jo normally spends most of her working week at our offices, and I am mainly at clients’ sites. We are now side by side in the former bedroom-turned-office / study room.  With our teenage daughter.  And the cats.

I think it is fair to say that this change is ‘interesting’. I (very fairly) get the study when I am on a client call and we are fortunate to have laptops and enough space that we all don’t have to be here all at the same time.

We have had to learn to adapt as I suspect that you have too. Last week we analysed each of our service offerings and worked out that we could do between 2/3 and 4/5 of it remotely. We also learned to use video conferencing and screen sharing software to be able to operate effectively.

I have no idea what percentage of your work you can do remotely, but think about it from a time, money and environmental perspective.  I can save up to 3 hours a day when I am not on the road.  Last year I did about 15,000 business miles and caused 15,000 miles of emissions and pollution.

Either way, looking to the future, EBS will offer a better service to our clients whilst travelling less and maybe saving the planet a little bit.  I hope you can do too.

Jo and I are having a few days off over the Easter break, enjoying a bit of a staycation! We hope you all have a peaceful and healthy Easter and we would like to thank all the NHS workers, care workers, rubbish collectors, delivery drivers and everybody out there ensuring that our Country continues to run during this national crisis.

Take care, wash your hands, stay safe and stay at home.

Jo & Wayne Pearce (& the cat!) x
